I had talked in my last blog post about moving forward; truthfully, I’m moving forward but with baby steps, definitely not leaps. I have been faithful to my personal training sessions three times a week, and just not as consistent with the group classes. It always seems like something comes up and I can’t make it to class on time.
I’m also struggling to make the better food choices. It’s not like I don’t know what to eat, but I struggle to be consistent with the grocery shopping and meal prepping. If only I were wealthy enough to hire a chef and professional hand slapper to keep me on track. But the personal training has taken most of my money.
I’m working on a plan to keep the consistency needed to lose the weight and be in healthier state of mind. I just finished reading, “The Twelve Week Year” by Brian Moran. I had really started to read it because I needed help with my work and was trying to figure out how to be more successful in a more limited time span. But as I was reading, I realized that these ideas could help me with my health & wellness journey, also.
As the name of my blog implies, I love to plan. I am going to plan my next twelve weeks. Ken Blanchard says, “There’s a difference between interest and commitment. When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when it’s convenient. When you’re committed to something, you accept no excuses – only results.” I need to be more dedicated to my life.
This means pulling out my Happy Planner and start planning. It’s kind of like when they say every dollar you have should have a designation. Same with my health and wellness plan. Every workout, meal plan, grocery shopping and meal prep needs to be scheduled and committed to.
